** Eligibility:
You need to be a native speaker of English, age 16 or older, and have
a US social security number to participate. (By native speaker we mean
that you learned English before the age of five and have used it
consistently since then.) Also, you need to know little or nothing
about linguistic theory or language processing (if you know what an
"anaphor" or a "garden path" is, then you may know too much; if you're
not sure about your level of knowledge, we can discuss it).

** Study Descriptions:
A. Self-paced reading: Prep3, NRRC2 (*NEW as of a week ago*), New-Old-1 (*NEW as of a week ago*)
You will sit in front of a computer and read sentences
word-by-word (to yourself, not out loud) at your own pace, by pressing
the space bar. Following each sentence is a simple yes/no
comprehension question.

B. Listening: IntC *NEW*
You will sit in front of a computer and listen to
sentences over headphones. Following each sentence, you will rate how
hard it was to understand and answer a simple yes/no question about it.

C. Survey: Q-Loc3-NN
You will read sentences on paper and rate them on a scale of
gooness/badness that we define for you.

***************************************************************************
If you know anybody who might like to be a subject, they can get on
this list by sending email to s_caller@psyche.mit.edu (this is also
the address to contact if you would like to be taken off the list).
