How to use the Message board

The web board can be a little confusing. First off there are a lot of advertisements on it. That is because it is a free service. I am sorry if that can be confusing. Anything above the Alternatives Initiative graphic on the first page is an ad. After using the board a few times it will be easier to figure what is actually part of the board and what isn't.

The big question: How To register to Use the board

1. click the button register your free account
2. you have two choices a local account or a global account. I think it would be easiest to get a local account. If you are really good with the computer then you could get a global account. If you are confused you could email me and I will help you pick one.
3. click on get a local account.
4. fill out the questions.
5. click register my local account
6. You will then get an email telling you how to use your account
7. in your email you will get a link to validate your account It will say here is your validation URL
8. click that link
9. then it brings you to another page and there will be a link to get to the board.
10. click that link
11. then you will be taken back to the board
12. You will then be signed in
13. If you are logged out of the board you click the login button
14. you then enter your username (the one you chose)
15. and your password


A good tip to remembering your name and password is to email it to yourself or ask someone you trust to do that for you. So you always have it.

The first time you log back in it will bring you to your control center. Unless you are really computer geeky like me you don't need to do anything with that. It is more for advanced users.

How to Fill out the questions to get a local account

Desired username: this is the name you want to use on the board.
Desired password: this should be five letters something that you will remember
Secret question: this is just something to help you remember your password. I don't pay much attention to it.
Secret answer: this is an answer to your question so you can remember your password
Email address: I usually give an address I don't care if I junk mail in
Name: just put your first name
Last name: just put your last name
Zip code: enter your zip code
Country: USA
Birth month and year: they just want to know you are over 13 years old
Gender: male or female
Uncheck yes I want email
Check I agree to ezboards terms of use and I am over 13
Click register for my local account
